I pose this question to you ladies and gents who are banded... how do you know when to stop? (eating that is).
I ask this question (and perhaps it is mainly tied to restriction level - my next fill is Aug 15) because despite the fact that I do have restriction, albeit not optimal, I still find myself not stopping eating when I should (with no consequence). Do you precisely measure every single thing that goes into your mouth? (I am not a measurer, I can't imagine packing measuring cups around everywhere haha). Does your body tell you "dude, if you don't stop eating now I'm going to send you spiraling into a world of pain and PB and make you wish you were dead"? Do you only eat for "x" amount of time and then just stop? I'm trying to get some information on how other people seem to find things.
Looking forward to your feedback!
Thanks :)

How Do You Know When To Stop?

Right now I measure...this, I'm hoping, is just for now. I have NO restriction (plus Dr.Woodhead said no 2nd fill right now cause I am doing good loosing weight :( )
Once I do get restriction I'm hoping it does a "STOP NOW" or pay kinda thing
GREAT question! I want to see what experienced people have to say about this...
I don't follow any hard and fast rules anymore, and maybe thats why I'm not even losing a pound a month anymore. I eat what I want when I want....which I guess is my downfall.
In the first 6 months of banding, I didn't exactly measure my food, but I always made sure I ate muuuuch less. I was overly cautious, paranoid that I'd slip my band or stretch my pouch. And I guess in time, I learned, like most banded folk do that you can push things a little further, can eat that one bite more, can eat more of a particular type of food.
I've told you this before Ang, but I'll say it for the others too, that when I have good restriction I eat 1/2 to a cup of food 3 times a day, and the very occasional snack and am satisfied. Before reaching that fill level, its just hard work for me to keep myself in check.
I know when I get that full "nothing more is going to fit" feeling, its time to stop, and unfortunately it can be SO different from day to day for me.
Ha, that probably didn't help at all!
Hey Ang, you are doing great. I know it's hard not to compare. I say not to, but in reality I always will too :)
I try to stop eating when I feel the slightest pressure. That lets me know that I am too full.
