So what is a "NSV" you ask? Well, let me tell you... A NSV is a "non-scale victory" something that marks a moment where you realize that you have lost weight from other than looking at the scale. One example of some people's NSV is crossing their legs without even noticing when they couldn't cross them before.
What was my NSV? It happened yesterday after work. I had a doctors appointment with my regular doctor to get a dissolving stitch that didn't want to dissolve out (kinda funny, I'll tell about that at the end of this point) and after that I decided to pop in at our local "plus size" clothing store. I didn't have the intention of buying anything but wanted to see what kind of styles and colours were new for this year and maybe try a few things on (it's a girl thing). So I went in and grabbed a few pairs of pants. I was curious so I grabbed my size and the size below it and off I went to try them on, well I tried on the smaller size first and... low and behold.. THEY FIT!!! At first I thought perhaps it was just a lucky style so I tried on a pair that weren't jeans.. same thing :) :) :) So of course I had to buy a pair, well not "had to" but to be honest my other jeans I only have a few pairs and one was getting pretty warn and they are all on the baggy side now. It was a bit of a surprise NSV as when I weighed this much last year I wasn't in this smaller size, guess where I've lost my weight is affecting the size - NO COMPLAINTS HERE.
So that was my great first NSV and I cannot wait to report more down the road as they happen.
Okay - this is what happened at the doc's taking my stitch out -- when I phoned my surgeon's office they said to go see my regular doc and have him take it out, okay no prob. so in I went. So I'm sitting in the exam room, he comes in, has a look and then grabs his tweezers and small scissors. I lie back on the exam table and within seconds like not even 2 he was like okay all done. He showed me the stitch it was the knot top which you could see above my skin and then the smallest of smallest of smidgens of stitch below that. I didn't even feel a thing and all he did was pull on it with the tweezers. I was like "oh, I could have done that" he gave me a silly look and was like "yah you could've" so I told him that I didn't because you just never know and my luck had I done it, it woulda been like 4" long or something. So that was that, got my stitch pulled (hehe) and got a referral form to go see a dietician.
So yesterday afternoon was a good afternoon! Yay for NSV's (and new pants).
