One step closer...

On this cold December day (who am I kidding its cold July days in this building at work) as I sit here with my borrowed heating pad to keep warm and my jacket on breathing on my fingers so they don't go numb in the cold, seriously contemplating mittens I can't help but think.... once I start losing weight I'm going to be even colder and may actually have to wear a snowsuit to work in order to stay warm!!

Regardless though, I will take the inner popsiclization in exchange!! I went Saturday morning to get my blood tests all done and completed that my surgeon required me to have. Thankfully, my friend Amy (bless her sweet self) told me that the one test is a couple hours long as the doc neglected to mention that. So I had to do the "no food or drink after 10pm the night before dealy" got there RETARDEDLY thirsty (turns out water would have been fine, doh). They took what seemed to be a tonne of blood, gave me the NASTIEST orange drink to drink in under 5 minutes (it was a lot too), the first few sips weren't bad since I was thirsty enough to drink a lake but after that it was a struggle, I ended up just chuggaluggin and hoping I wouldnt throw up after (thankfully I didn't). They sent me back out to the waiting area to the most comfortable chairs in the world (NOT) and said we'll come get you in 2 hours... GREAT how fun for me. Thankfully being warned in advance I had loaded a movie onto my iPhone, so I popped in those standard Apple earphone earbuds that were clearly meant as miniature torture devices and settled in for my two hour wait. The time went by as I contently watched my movie and only had about 7 minutes to wait after the movie was over. They then proceeded to take even more blood and I was good to go. (PS, those little urination cups were CLEARLY invented for a man by men).

Now that I have had the blood tests done and am slowly starting to figure out what the plan is for January with work, plus I spoke with my boss about taking my vacation early into the new year and explained what it was about and that I would require some time to go to follow up appointments afterwards, he was very supportive of it and great about the whole thing (yet another reason I like my boss) and also very encouraging and had no problems with me taking vacation and having to leave early the occasional day.

I have called the Dr's and will be going next Thursday Dec 20 to get all the paperwork signed, etc and book my surgery for the new year. I am getting very excited.

The hard part is done! Now you just have to sit back and wait for the holidays to roll by and then you are golden. By-the-way that orange drink they give you is so nasty, and then they time you. (Talk about pressure!)I will be with you every step of the way- I promise.

yeah, just wait til you drop the insulation ... i am always an icicle at work (and at home, the car, etc..)

i loathe the standard ear buds too, i just bought a pair of headphones from Nike made for apple (they fit the iPhone too), maybe Nike flight something? they are great for running and they stay in!!! they were about 30-40 bucks though, but i love them!! <3

Thanks you too! I tell ya having fellow bandster buddies makes it all seem so much more attainable.

I've asked for a fancy pair of headphones for Christmas that look like they might be a bit more comfortable and the adapter to be able to use them with my iPhone. I hope they are comfy!!
